Ms Sharma ended last year on a dhamakedaar note with PK turning to be the highest Bollywood grosser ever. And now it seems her success streak will continue this year as well….
Before Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture PK hit the screens in December last year, Anushka Sharma was missing from the big screen for a long time. But as soon as Hirani’s film released, Virat Kohli’s ladylove was back in limelight and that too in style. Of course, the film starred Aamir Khan but the Band Baaja Baaraat actress also stood out in PK courtesy her performance. So while 2014 turned out to be a terrific year for Anushka, will 2015 belong to the B-town beauty? Well, till now this year has been good for the talented actress as her maiden production venture N10 not only impressed the critics and Bollywood bigwigs but it also managed to pull in crowd to the cinema halls. With this film Anushka also proved her versatility as an actress. No wonder, her dumdaar performance received appreciation from all quarters. Apart from N10, the YRF protégé has two more interesting releases this year. Let’s take a look at them….
Bombay Velvet: After NH10, this much-awaited Anurag Kashyap directorial is Ms Sharma’s next release this year. Set in the ’60s, Anushka plays a jazz singer in this period drama which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar in the lead. A lot has been said about Bombay Velvet whose trailer was unveiled not too long ago. While it received mixed response, this Anushka-Ranbir starrer is certainly one of biggest releases of this year.
Dil Dhadakne Do: After Bombay Velvet, the NH10 actress-producer will be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s eccentric family drama Dil Dhadakne Do opposite her ex-flame Ranveer Singh. Since the B-town beauty has teamed up with Singh, there is a lot of buzz around this one. Though technically Anushka isn’t the leading lady in DDD, we hear she has got a interesting role in this flick. In fact, the trailer of DDD which was unveiled recently garnered phenomenal response. So it won’t be surprising if this one tastes success at the box office.
While Anushka Sharma has already had a success in the form of Navdeep Singh’s directorial debut NH10, her next two releases also seem promising and interesting. So chances are 2015 may very well turn out to Ms Sharma’s year!
