No wonder, it also got cash registers jinling and Akki received much acclaim for his dumdaar performance. But unlike most A-listers who prefer doing one or two films a year, Twinkle Khanna’s hubby dearest on the other hand has three more projects lined up for 2015. Yes, he is going to have maximum number of releases this year. But will the Baby actor taste success each time? Well, the Special 26 hero may not deliver a blockbuster like Salman, Shah Rukh or Aamir Khan does but all his films certainly promise to entertain the masses…
Akshay Kumar’s next releases
Gabbar Is Back: Starring Akki, Shruti Haasan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, this venture is an out-an-out commercial action flick with good music. The film has already created good buzz is set to hit the cinema halls this Friday. Since massy genre is Akshay’s forte, Gabbar Is Back should fare well at the box office.
Brothers: This film has marked Akshay’s collaboration with Dharma head honcho Karan Johar. Yes, the two are working for the very first time and that’s one reason why everyone is eagerly looking forward to this film. Not too long, the first poster of the film was unveiled and it garnered phenomenal response.Brothers also features Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez. With Johar backing the film and an interesting star cast, Brothers is likely to get cash registers jingling. We spoke to exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi and he told us that film should easily make 125 to 130 crore at the BO. In fact, Rathi is expecting the film would make more than that.
Singh Is Bliing: For this film, Akshay has teamed up with Prabhu Dheva once again. The duo earlier worked together in Rowdy Rathore which turned out to be a money spinner and that’s the reason why expectations are high from this flick as well. Akki and Prabhu Dheva’s jodi struck gold at the BO last time so chances are the scenerio will be the same this time around as well. Also,Singh Is Bliing is again a massy entertainer which is coming out on a national holiday that is October 2. So that’s a big advantage for the film.
We spoke to exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi and asked him about Akshay’s box office fate this year. Well, here’s what he said: “Akshay Kumar’s every film may not do as much business as a Salman film or a Shah Rukh film does. He may not cross the Rs 100 crore mark or Rs 150 crore mark each time but he is one actor who has a film coming out every quarter and that brings him to life in the industry. Its very crucial to have a release every quarter because that consistency not helps Akshay but it helps the industry. And each of his films are outright entertainers. So hats off to him for pulling off the show that he has been doing for years now. And yes this year does look good for him especially with a film like Brothers under his belt.”
