Both the films were supposed to release during Eid 2016. What went wrong? Read on to find out…

One of the biggest box office clashes – Sultan vs Raees has been averted thanks to Salman Khan. As per reports, Salman agreed to give up on his Eid slot, postponing his Sultan to Diwali 2016. Reveals a source close to the project, “Shah Rukh and Salman have become good friends again and they believe that there’s no competition between them. They respect each other’s work and have worked out a solution to avoid a clash. Shah Rukh has retained Eid 2016 for ‘Raees’ while Salman will convince the makers of ‘Sultan’ to shift the release to Diwali 2016.”

We hear both the superstars sat together and derived to this conclusion after a long-hour discussion. Confirming further, another source from Team Sultan stated, “Both have a massive fan following and do not want the audience to be divided. So, Salman has now decided to come on Diwali.”

While an official confirmation on the same is yet to be made. We wonder if Salman postponed his film fearing defeat at the box office. Referring to one of his recent interviews, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor was himself quoted saying, ” I love Shah Rukh a lot and I don’t think he needs to worry at all because the last time our movies came together he had beaten me. So, even if Sultan and Raees are releasing on the same day, loss mera hi hoga.”

Another big aspect to this is that if at all Salman’s Sultan releases during Diwali 2016, it’ll be seen clashing with Ranbir Kapoor’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s ambitious project Shivaay. What destiny holds for all these films, only time will tell. Keep watching this space for more updates…
