Taylor Swift is one of the most generous pop stars around, and she recently changed the lives of a family in Texas! The singer donated $15,000 to Aaron VanRiper’s wife and son, after he had to save them from a car crash, and now people all across the country are chipping in to help.
Over the weekend, the volunteer firefighter got a call about a collision between a car and a pickup truck. When he got on the scene, he discovered that his wife and son were involved in the crash — and that he had to help get his only child out of the vehicle.
Thankfully, he’s doing okay! Their son Jonathan has been released from the hospital after having surgeries on his arm and leg, but Aaron’s wife Amber is still hospitalized.
Since the family doesn’t have health insurance, their medical bills are quite expensive, so their friend Mandy Kibby set up a GoFundMe to raise money for the VanRipers. But everyone was surprised when they saw a $15,000 donation from the pop star.
