Louis Tomlinson is launching a record label! While the One Direction singer has no plans to abandon the group, he’s working on signing new acts onto his own imprint, which will exist under 1D’s current label, Syco.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for some time, and to be given the opportunity to potentially give new artists a platform is an incredible feeling,” he told The Sun.
“I hope to sign some really exciting artists down the line.”
According to rumors, he’s already signed X Factor finalist Jack Walton, and is looking to get a girl group as the second act under his label. (If so, that would explain why he was at auditions for an all-female band earlier this year.)
Louis already launched a media company called 78 Productions Limited in January, but a record label? That’s pretty big. We’ve heard about his aspirations to be like Simon Cowell, and it seems like he’s well on his way to making that happen.
Are you surprised Louis is launching a record label? What kind of artists do you think he will sign? Tell us in the comments!
