Mr Perfectionist has given his opinion on the most controversial topic in the recent past…
Aamir Khan has been very vocal about issues pertaining to the society always. Whether it is with the content of his production ventures or it is his television show, everywhere Aamir tries to lend his hand at making India a better place to live.
The actor was recently invited to launch the trailer of an award winning filmMargarita With A Straw, starring Kalki Koechlin in the lead. The content of the film sidelines on a women’s sexuality and a bit on lesbian relationships, things that are not very commonly accepted in the Indian society. Also, the censor board’s word-ban list made it very clear that they wouldn’t allow anything as such to be shown to the Indian audiences. So we inquired as to what Mr Perfectionist had to say about the censor board.
Aamir quipped, “I am personally not in favour of any censorship at all. I thing freedom of speech is something that everyone should have and as creative personnel, even the film industry should have their rights to express their thoughts.” Aamir was ably supported by the director of Margarita With A Straw, Shonali Bose who said that Censorship should not be there for films. She said that there should be age bars which audiences should be given directives to as to which movie is for which audience base and then leave it onto the audience to decide for themselves.
We too think its the perfect thing to do. After all Indian audiences have grown up with time. Audiences should be allowed to choose what’s best for them, but at the same time there should be a censorship directive suggesting the age group of viewership.
